In 2026, Tel-Aide Montréal celebrates 55 years of listening.

Since January 30, 1971, our mission has remained the same: to be there to listen. Over the decades, thousands of people have found, on the other end of the line, a compassionate, respectful, and confidential ear.

Behind every call are human stories: moments of doubt, loneliness, or distress, but also the possibility to be heard. For 55 years, Tel-Aide volunteers have offered something invaluable: a space where people can speak freely, without judgment.

This anniversary highlights the courage of those who reach out for help, as well as the remarkable commitment of the volunteers who give their time to listen, day after day. It also reflects the strength of a community that understands that listening can truly change lives.

Today, just as in 1971, Tel-Aide remains committed to its mission: to be there for those who need someone to talk to.
