Tel-Aide Montreal provides a general listening service available in both French and English to assist individuals in coping with everyday challenges.
Active listening is a an empathetic communication technique that aims to understand, without judgment or advice, the feelings and concerns of the speaker. At Tel-Aide Montréal, volunteer listeners pay close attention, ask open-ended questions, and respond with empathy, allowing the caller to express themselves freely and to feel heard. This type of listening creates a safe space where the caller can explore their thoughts and emotions.
Tel-Aide Montreal provides a free active listening service by phone, accessible to anyone who feels the need to talk. Our trained volunteer listeners offer empathetic, non-judgmental support in a safe and confidential environment. This service is available to discuss a wide range of topics, from stress and anxiety to loneliness and personal crises. Additionally, Tel-Aide Montreal offers services for private residences for seniors and welcomes student interns.
